Description
The EASY WEAR Contact Lens device was invented and designed by optician-optometrist contact lens fitter Gianfranco Passuello to facilitate the insertion of large-diameter scleral, miniscleral, hybrid and soft contact lenses in seconds.
The Easy Wear Contact Lens device should be used only in conjunction with a DMV Vented Scleral CupTM (double hole) suction cup when fitting scleral, miniscleral, hybrid lenses.
For soft lens fitting requires a specific adapter (optional) that can only be supplied upon request (link)
Method of use:
1) place EASY WEAR Contact Lens on a table.
2) place the contact lens on the soft perforated suction cup (not included with the device) and fill the hollow part of the lens with single-dose saline solution (preservative-free) until it is filled
3) with the right hand hold the lower eyelid open, with the left hand the upper one
4) staring at the led light through the contact lens move closer until you feel the lens resting on the eye.
4) make sure in the mirror that the contact lens is inserted correctly and without air bubbles. Use the Easy Wear Contact Lens LED by resting the device on the temple and directing the grazing light toward the eye to get a better view of the presence of air bubbles.
The strengths of this device are:
– the two hands are free to hold the eyelids open and counteract the physiological reflex to close;
– the device stabilizes the support of the lens on the suction cup and allows the hollow part of the contact lens to be well filled with solution; and
– reduces the possibility of air bubbles getting trapped under the contact lens.
– the LED light source (non-glare) allows it to be a guideline and easily align the eye with the center of the lens during insertion.
